LITTLE STEPS LEARNING CENTRE INC is a childcare provider in North Vancouver, British Columbia. The company was established in 2016; however, our passion for learning and love for children has been made known since 2005. Fariba Faridi, owner and founder of the company, started her career by opening Little House Family Child Care in her home. A few years later, she changed it into a multi-age group, and finally, in 2016, she incorporated the business, LITTLE STEPS LEARNING CENTRE INC, and changed the program for infants and toddlers.
Mission
LITTLE STEPS LEARNING CENTRE INC believes that:
Children are entitled to a safe and nurturing environment with a schedule of routines that best meet the individual needs of each child in our care. This quality care allows each individual child to discover themselves physically, socially/emotionally, and cognitively.
Our program philosophy is play-based. We believe that children learn through play and by doing. By slotting long amounts of free-play, the children are able to develop their own meaning of things and are able to learn through meaningful play. The educators facilitate the play and guide the children in understanding new meanings of concepts. All play experiences are developed and based on the children’s interests.
We strive to ensure that each child is treated with respect as a valuable individual; and every child can grow, play, and learn as an individual.
Vision
Our goal is to provide them with a good and strong start as they enter the real world.
Parents are entitled to individual respect, support, and quality care for their children. LITTLE STEPS LEARNING CENTRE INC’s mission is to enhance the lives of the children and their parents by providing a caring and supportive service. To assure children as well as their parents that they have the opportunity to develop their paramount capability and are ready to commence the school education level to the best of their abilities.
Get to Know Us
Fariba Faridi was born in Iran on December 8th. She studied chemical engineering and pursued this career for more than ten years in Iran. In 2000, she moved to Canada with her two children, her son at the age of ten and her daughter at the age of six. In Canada, she started out as an accountant in a dental equipment company, but the long hours behind a computer and her long-time compassion for kids persuaded her to remove herself from the job and to pursue an ECE instead. After completing her ECE, she moved to Burnaby and opened up her own daycare in 2005, and to this day, she is happily running it. Fariba finds herself dedicated to her job and tries her best in providing the best environment she can for the children. Her patience and dedication make her successful in working with children and parents every day. Her philosophy is that children should learn through free play, and in her job, she continues to bring that forward.
